Relishing 2011

I had intended for this post to go out MUCH earlier today, but alas, as we all know “intentions” and “expectations” can often fly right out the window. (Especially when we get to tinkering with our new website and making it even better! Have you not seen it yet!? Get over here!)

Anyway, that’s not what I came here to talk about…

What I wanted to share was that as there (sadly) will be no official “reveb11″ to participate in I have decided to do my own sort of daily writing project: Relish11. This has been a very full year for me, as it may well have been for you too, so I wanted to share what I was planning on, and invite you to partake as well. I will be starting tomorrow with the first post, and run straight on through with a new prompt each day up to the end of the month. I will be sharing my posts on twitter with the hashtag of #relish11, and I would love it if you did the same, so that our collective efforts can be found and enjoyed. In the interest of planning ahead, I will be posting a week’s worth of prompts each Monday morning (but that won’t start till this coming Monday!) so you can see what I have in store for us. Please feel free to post links to your writing in the comments for the prompt post each morning or in reply to my own contribution later that day… Last year finding other amazing writers was the highlight of the project for me.

Every year has the potential to bring about a unique set of changes and challenges, things you’re happy to remember and others you wouldn’t mind forgetting. But as it draws to an end I can’t help but feel that what a year really has the potential to do is to reveal to us where we were, what our lives were made of, and who we got to be while living each day, not knowing the importance it might carry once the date changed for good.

As a special bonus, and because I love this time of year, I will be hosting a series of giveaways the whole month, 10 in all. The first one will be on Monday, so feel free to check back in to get all the details on that.

I am wishing all of you, wherever you are, whatever holiday you might be celebrating, a joyous time in your life. I think we all could use it. :)
